Kate Schmutz started her legal career in 1989 as an Assistant Solicitor in the Charleston County Solicitor’s Office. After nearly a decade of trying criminal cases, Kate entered private practice as a partner in the Schmutz Law Firm. Since 1998, Kate has worked exclusively in Family Court. During the past fourteen years she has handled all of the firm’s Family Court matters including divorce, child custody and child support, separate support and maintenance, and protective orders.
